There are plenty of folks shaking their heads over the drama that plays out on Reality TV shows. But one woman in particular decided to do something about it! Alexa M has organized a petition on Change.org Boycott Evelyn Lozada: Don’t support Evelyn Lozada’s new show “EV And OCHO” on VH1 explaining;
Why This Is Important
Evelyn Lozada is a bully. The violence on “Basketball Wives” is horrible and disgraceful. Physical assaults, threats, verbal abuse, harassment and VH1 is rewarding this behavior by giving her a show. Do not reward negative behavior.
Call and write Viacom who owns VH1. Let them know your thoughts.
Address: 1515 Broadway, New York, New York 10036, U.S.A.
Telephone: (212) 258-6000
Fax: (212) 258-6464
This is not a hate petition against Eveyln Lozada. We simply will not support violence. It hurts to see violence amongst women on television for entertainment purposes. It is not ok for women to hit each other on TV.
Please visit Petition Updates for the latest news and updates. Thank you to everyone for making your points without the use of profanity. Also, thank you for being respectful of other commenters. We’re all about positive change.
It was just last week that 3GM pointed out the influence of Reality TV on young people ( Is Basketball Wives To Blame for Teen Girl Arrested After Brutal Fight Over Twitter Beef ?) Leave it to a Spelman Sister, they don’t just talk the talk but walk the walk! (Please note we are only assuming Ms. M attends Spelman as she is using the Spelman logo as her profile on Change.org) Shouts out to Alexis M. and all of the other women fighting to promote positive images of Black Women!
And what about you, would you sign the petition? Is it our duty to hold ourselves and our community to a higher standard or should we just turn the channel? Sound off in the comments!
